Amgis is pleased to announce that Jakob Jakobsson is joining Amgis Toroidal Power Products, effective October 4, 2010, as Product Manager/Engineering Manager.

Houston, Texas:  Jakob comes to us from Amveco Magnetics, now a part of Actuant.  During his approximate 20 years with Amveco, Jakob was the Design Engineer, Engineering Manager, and in the last few years, the Product Manager.

Jakob’s experience is enhanced by his Bachlor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Houston. 

As Product Manager/Engineering Manager, Jakob will be responsible for the overall leadership of the engineering department and customer design requests.  Specifically, Jakob will lead our efforts in the following areas:

• Researching and evaluating new product opportunties, demand for potential products, and customer needs and insights.
• Overall engineering strategy and execution of plans for existing products.
• Managing distribution channels for products.
• Ensuring effective, branded marketing communications including the company website, print communication, and advertising.
• Analysis of the effectiveness of all engineering efforts.

Jakob will work closely with the Sales & Marketing teams.
